PROPERTIES:
Tetracycline hydrochloride reaches high serum levels, due to its rapidity to the various organic fluids at the level of cerebrospinal fluid, absorption in the gastrointestinal tract, observing a wide peritoneal and pleural diffusion, with antimicrobial action against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
INDICATIONS:
Respiratory infections, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, skin and soft tissue infections, caused by microorganisms sensitive to tetracycline.
PRECAUTIONS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Tetracycline should be used with caution when administering antacids, it should not be given to pregnant women, or to children under 9 years of age. Tetracycline should not be used after its expiration date.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Some people may experience burning, epigastric and abdominal discomfort, nausea, and vomiting. In cases of overdose there is vestibular toxicity, which is manifested by dizziness and atoxia; in cases of hypersensitivity there are skin reactions. Long-term treatment with Tetracycline. It can produce lymphocytosis, leukocytosis, toxic granulation of granulocytes, and thrombocytopenic purpura.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
TETRACICLINA should be administered orally, at a dose of 500 mg and a frequency given every six hours for a minimum time of ten days, unless indicated by the doctor.
