PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTIVITY
Bactericidal macrolide antibiotic
INDICATIONS
Treatment of infections by susceptible organisms such as:
Respiratory tract infections (sinusitis, pharyngotonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia). Otitis media Skin and soft tissue. Sexually transmitted infections (Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae)
Administration way: Oral
DOSAGE
1 tablet of 500 mg every 24 hours for 3 days.
COMPOSITION
Each coated tablet contains:
Azithromycin USP
equivalent to anhydrous azithromycin – 500 mg
Excipients c.s.p – 1 Tab.
Keep out of reach of children.
Storage:
Store in a cool, dry place.
Protect yourself from light.
At a temperature not higher than 30 ° C.
PHARMACOKINETICS
Azithromycin works by inhibiting protein synthesis by bacteria. Azithromycin is widely distributed throughout all tissues and subsequently tissue concentrations remain much higher than in blood. It is excreted in the bile as metabolites and medicine unchanged.
CONTRAINDICATIONS AND WARNINGS
Hypersensitivity to azithromycin or to any of the macrolide antibiotics.
Concurrent use with cisapride, phenothiazines, pimozide, and ranolazine is
contraindicated. Do not use in children under 6 months or in children under 6
kilos of weight.
